    Space to think

    In our high-pressure roles, space to think is a luxury that many people just don't have. Time spent in coaching is time devoted to articulating goals for yourself or for your business, recognising your strengths, working out what's holding you back and building a strategy to achieve those goals.


    Your coach will support and empower you, help you to break habits and learn new ones, and most importantly, give you the confidence to act. We give you the space and the structure to work through your issues and plan the best way forward.


    Coaching works best when the impetus comes from you. Even where the circumstances are challenging, there is a way through to greater personal and business success. What makes coaching effective is the fact that it is non-directive and not about giving you advice. When did you last happily do what someone told you to do?


    Typical assignments include:-

    • Helping a new MD in a challenging business environment to move from doing to leading
    • Working with a CEO of a consultancy on his aspiration to take the business global
    • Empowering the Head of IT in a big industrial to win the respect of the Board through increased confidence and a more strategic approach
    • Working through staffing challenges around getting and keeping buy-in from senior hires with the owner of an international consultancy

    Coaching is delivered either in blocks of 5 sessions lasting two hours each, or on a 'draw-down' basis, using the hours as it suits you. We can meet you at your office, at a neutral venue or work with you by phone or Skype.


    Mentoring services

    Need a sounding board on what you need to do to take your business to the next level? Would you value input from someone who has worked at C-Suite level and who can share tactics and techniques that have worked in other businesses? In our mentoring work, we provide a friendly, confidential support service to business leaders, particularly in consultancies and partnerships, to help them to grow or restructure the business, deal with staffing issues, expand or even shrink.


    Mentoring services can be delivered flexibly to suit your situation. We'll happily meet you for anything from an hour to series of sessions over a number of months.

    We also believe that we should be as well qualified as you are, so we are accredited, comply with codes of ethics and supervision requirements and undertake regular professional development.

    Lindsay Paterson


    Lindsay's experience includes 5 years as COO of a global public affairs consultancy, working closely with the CEO to grow the business to cover 60 markets globally.


    She has also run her own business, worked as an adviser to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and as part of the senior management team of a professional society.


    Lindsay has significant experience of managing for growth, innovation, change management and entrepreneurship, making her the ideal match for high- performers and entrepreneurs.


    She trained as a lawyer and holds an Executive Coaching qualification from the Association for Coaching where she is an Associate Member


    Jane Simmonds


    Jane has been on the executive management teams of the UK's leading branding consultancies, latterly as CEO of Fitch and Managing Partner of Conran Design Group. She has led high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams for global clients such as Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, pwc, Coats plc, Shell and Procter & Gamble. She has a deep understanding of what it takes to be professionally effective, at board level and when looking to step up to the next senior role.
